Rockdrill Services Australia was established in April 2001 due to an increasing need for alternate options for rock drill repairs. RDSA quickly built a solid reputation for quality and customer service over the following years. With increased demand for their services RDSA established an in-house manufacturing arm in 2002 to guarantee quality parts supply. Through continual growth RDSA today operates three national service centres and employs over 50 people.
2001 Rockdrill Services Australia (RDSA) is founded in Kalgoorlie Western Australia by Alex Sangster and Paul Traeger to establish an alternative to OEMs for servicing and repairing hydraulic Rock drills.
2002 An in-house manufacturing capability is developed to meet the growing client base and a need for reliable parts supply.
2005 RDSA’s Townsville branch opened in 2005 to provide improved support to customers in Queensland.
2007 Melbourne manufacturing facility is opened to expand engineering and parts manufacturing capability and capacity, and to provide service support to customers in south east Australia.
2008 RDSA introduces 4 bolt open atmosphere front head improvements and development for a 4 bolt rockdrill is commenced.
2010 Patent application for VS-25 variable stroke drifter lodged.
2011 Improved TB60 cradle design developed.
2012 Today RDSA is Australia’s largest independent rock drill manufacturer and servicer, employing approximately 55 people and operating from three States.
